Hawaii part 3 - Mud Bugs
Most of the places we were planning on visiting on the different Hawaiian islands were closed due to the massive amounts of rain that fell. We decided to splurge and go on a mud ATV tour on Kauai. We figured, hey, the more rain the muddier and more fun. The trip was called Mud Bugs. You wear your swimming suit and the owners give you clothing to put on top. They also give you goggles and a helmet. Then you're off, in the dune buggy, to explore the lush countryside. Here is a picture of one of the puddles we drove through:
And here is a picture of the scenery you see as you drive along:
We stopped at a tunnel for pictures. Here is our whole group, it's hard to tell how muddy and wet we are from this picture. The tunnel was really cool, there are trees and a waterfall right above it.
After we drove through the tunnel, they took us to a small waterfall for pictures.
I like this picture for 2 reasons. 1, there's a lizard hanging on Ollie's ear. Gross. 2. This is a great close-up to see how dirty we really got.
Then we arrived at a bigger waterfall where we could swim, and where they gave us the lunch that was included with the price. Some of us jumped off the waterfall, the girls were too cold to go in the water though.
And lastly, here is our whole group that went with us.
This is what you see when you're done, and this is exactly what I felt like.
We got cleaned up and dressed back in our own clothes, but some of the things we were wearing, like socks, will never be the same again. It was the muddiest I've ever been in my whole life, but it was AWESOME. We would do it again in a heart beat. Too bad it was so expensive.
hahah that picture of brent cracks me up! wow, you really did get nice and muddy. good job!
