NYC
I had to go to Manhattan for work but I saw a few sites while I was there.
The easiest way to get around was either by walking or via subway. Taxis are expensive and renting a car would be asinine considering the traffic. Over all, Manhattan is a busy and noisy place to visit.
My hotel was only a few blocks away from Time Square (its more like a chaotic triangle). It is just a lot of lights and billboards with a bunch of people trying to get you into their shows or buy something.

I hit the city library and the architecture inside and out was amazing. They had detailed murals on the walls and ceiling (the picture didn't turn out). I would be surprised if any city would allocate that much funds to build any type of public building like that today.
After the library I saw Grand Central Station. It was interesting to see how the transportation hub of NYC worked.
I went to the Temple and it was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the streets. It was so nice and quiet inside. It blends in with the other buildings very well. Its easy to pass it by until you see the statue.
Friday before my plane left for SLC I took the subway down to Wall Street to see a few places. Here is Trinity Cathedral and Alexander Hamilton (Shot by Aaron Burr in a dual) was buried there.

The WTC looks just like a big construction site but the fire station across the street had plaques to honor the people that died in the attack. It doesn't seem that long ago, I was a year out in the mission when the planes hit the buildings.

I stoped by a few of the stock trading markets in NYC.

Here is the place George Washington took the oath as the first president.

Brooklyn Bridge
The Staton Island ferry is free and it goes right by the Statue of Liberty.
Manhattan from the ferry.
Central Park is the only place you will see anything green in the city.

All in all, I got a lot of work done and don't need to go back to see anything (even though I will probably have to).

How come you're not in any of the pictures? I like the place where George Washington took the oath. That is cool and super old.
